Swedish Lapland – Winter Crossing of Sarek

120 km by ski-pulka — 10-day winter traverse of Sarek National Park – 2022

Polar adventures have always fascinated me. I wanted to feel what it’s like to move through extreme environments, immersed in the immaculate vastness of entirely white landscapes. To me, these spaces embody purity in its truest form.

With my friend Marius Simon, we crossed Sarek National Park in complete self-sufficiency during winter, at the northernmost tip of Sweden, above the Arctic Circle, considered one of Europe’s wildest territories.

We moved on skis, pulling our pulkas loaded with all our gear and provisions, advancing through white-outs and polar storms, fully immersed in this endless white expanse. Among snow-covered valleys, frozen rivers, and lakes, the absolute silence and the sublime, untamed beauty of the landscapes invited contemplation and humility.
